Ottawa, ON – October 2, 2006 – Spotwave Wireless today announced the appointment of Jim Johnson as the company’s Vice President of Sales. Overseeing all of Spotwave's worldwide sales activities, Mr. Johnson will lead the company's plan to forge strategic partnerships and will have overall responsibility for the company’s indirect, carrier, and direct sales and service teams for both commercial and residential in-building wireless products. Mr. Johnson will be based out of the company’s Chicago area office and report to Spotwave CEO Phil Ladouceur.
Mr. Johnson brings to Spotwave over 20 years of experience building and leading successful sales and sales support teams. Prior to Spotwave, Johnson served as Vice-President and General Manager at AT&T Wireless in the Illinois/Indiana area, assuming this position in May 1998. He grew the Chicago market from start-up in 1996 to $650M in revenue by 2005. He also led the integration of the Indianapolis market acquired from Cingular.
"We're building strength and expertise into our management team as we grow to meet the increasing demand for our in-building wireless products in both the B2B and B2C markets,” said Phil Ladouceur, Spotwave CEO. “We are carefully choosing individuals with proven track records of success in the industry and deep business experience. We are pleased to have someone with Jim's qualifications and business background join our executive team. His efforts will play a key role in driving the continued success of our company."
"Spotwave is a pioneer in intelligent wireless coverage solutions, with a proud history of innovation and with excellent solutions for carriers, enterprises and the wireless subscribers at home," said Mr. Johnson. "My key interest in joining Spotwave was brought about by the company's outstanding product line and impressive customer and partner base. As part of the leadership team, I look forward to driving Spotwave's sales, further enhancing the company's reputation as a market leader and increasing our market share."
Immediately prior to joining AT&T, Mr. Johnson served as Vice President, Sales and Marketing for Communications Clearing House, Inc., a Chicago telephony and Internet pioneer providing integrated offers of wireless voice and data, local exchange and Internet offers to Chicago's commercial market.
